The annual Municipal Railway Heritage Weekend's first day.

Started by photographing the vintage cars being pulled out on San Jose Ave.: Blackpool 228 and 233, Holman 1, Milan 1815, Brussels 7037 (as Zurich 737), and dinky 596, which car I rode to the San Francisco Railway Museum.

Late Muni operator "Boston Mike" Delia was honored with a ceremony dedicating PCC 1059 (Boston Electric Ry.) in his honor. Through cars were able to bypass the ceremony via Steuart and Mission to Embarcadero.

Trolley coaches running out Columbus to Van Ness and North Point were Marmon 776, Flyer 5300, and ETI 5538. Motor coaches operating to the Fourth & Townsend Caltrain were White 042, Mack 2230, AM General 4154, and Neoplan 8350. Unfortunately, the Marmon developed a problem that put it out of service. I understand it was later loaded on a flatbed tow truck to return to Presidio Division.

I roamed the area near Mission and Steuart Sts. photographing mainly sunlit vehicles.

I did ride Flyer 5300 to Van Ness. Took Mack 2230 to Caltrain and decided to take advantage of the free rides (and parking) they offered on the first full day of electric service to San Jose (Tamien). Boarded train 634 and rode to Diridon Station. I'm impressed with how fast and quiet the ride in the Stadler cars is. My only issue was the rigidity of the seatbacks.

Took some photos of transit at San Jose Diridon Station. Boarded Rapid 500 to Berryessa BART and then rode a train back to my parked car at Warm Springs/South Fremont St. The bacon cheeseburger salad meal is at Black Bear Diner in Fremont.

Nikon D5600 and Samsung Galaxy A54 5G cameras yielded 696 photos.
