Mystery Trips 2025
As part of the San Francisco Bay Area's Transit Month, Santa Clara VTA decided to offer free rides on its light rail
and bus lines this Tuesday the 23rd. I took advantage of it to go get myself a meal at Nation's Giant Burgers on Silver Creek
Valley Rd. My route with the help of the Transit app was to take the 55 from north Sunnyvale to Old Ironsides Station,
then a Green Line LRV to Santa Clara Station in downtown San Jose, then a 66 south to Monterey and Senter Rds.,
and finally a 42 coach over to Silver Creek Valley Rd. and Silver Creek Valley Pl. Took just over two hours,
and the rides were worth it to get my usual bacon cheeseburger, fries, and Coke Zero Sugar to dine in.
At Senter Rd. I saw Gillig 6431 decorated for United Against Hate and got a few shots. During the trip, I visited
the Pantograph app on the phone to see what Gillig 6406, the Ride With Pride bus, was doing. She was operating
the 57 line. My return from Nation's included the 42 to Santa Teresa Station, a Blue Line train to Santa Clara
Station, and a Green Line train to Great America, where the Convention Center was open for something. I made a pit
stop and filled my water bottle. Walked over to the Old Ironsides Station stop of the 57 where, guess what, my timing
was perfect to Ride With Pride! Rode the 6406 down the route to Saratoga Ave. and Prospect Rd. Caught a 56 bus
back home to north Sunnyvale. The image of Harvey Milk from the inside was clear in certain aspects of the
western sunlight, and I took two pictures.
Nikon D5600 and Samsung Galaxy A16 5G cameras yielded 157 photos.
