Megabus.com, a subsidiary of Coach USA (owned by Stagecoach Group), operates low-fare express services in the United States. All reservations are done via internet. From August 2007 until June 2008 there was Southwest U.S. service from a Los Angeles hub to Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Diego, and the San Francisco Bay Area (S.F., Oakland, and San Jose) which folded from lack of riders. I used Megabus once, on a San Jose to Los Angeles trip on October 26, 2007.
On December 12, 2012 Megabus.com service returned to California using Van Hool double deck coaches equipped with electrical outlets and wifi internet.
Routes included San Francisco to Los Angeles via Oakland or San Jose, San Francisco to Sacramento and Sparks, and Los Angeles to Las Vegas.
