The Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC) provides for bus services within that county. It also offers services to Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties. The routes used to be operated by Coach America until that company filed bankruptcy and purchaser Coach USA declined to renew contracts. It did agree to operate another month while a successor was found. Roadrunner Management Services, Inc. of Camarillo took over on July 30, 2012 using Gillig Phantom buses that were original to SamTrans. Rebranding of the service from VISTA (Ventura Intercity Service Transit Authority) to VCTC Intercity Transit began about 2014 with the arrival of new motor coaches to replace Gilligs.
